Helping to fight Covid with a slick new Shopify site for Pelsis

Pelsis are a global manufacturer of pest and hygiene control products. In response to the Covid crisis they appointed Bolser to design and build an ecommerce site to enable online sales of their Hurricane ES decontamination fogger, across Europe.

The challenge

An effective ecommerce site, live in 6 countries in 6 languages in 6 weeks.

Our team were tasked with planning, designing and building a bespoke, pan-european ecommerce site within 6 weeks. Time was tight in order to meet the rising demand for decontamination equipment to help reduce the spread of Covid.

The custom built site had to seamlessly handle content and transactions across Europe, in 6 different languages and both GBP and EUR currencies.

What we did

Integrated Shopify ecommerce platform with Drupal CMS.

The project began with an in depth discovery phase to ensure all requirements of the site were fully incorporated from the outset.

We integrated the Shopify ecommerce platform with Drupal CMS and hosted the site on Microsoft Azure to give Pelsis a flexible, scalable and super secure custom built solution.

As informing & educating potential purchasers was a key requirement of the brief, we constructed content supported by diagrams and videos clearly explaining the specific benefits of the Hurricane ES. This became a key feature of the site and our team soon became experts in the field of electrostatic anti-viral fogging.

We designed the site to initially accommodate 6 countries and 2 currencies but with the capability to easily add more when required. We also organised the translation of content into 6 different languages by native speakers from each country.

From the outset we designed and built the site to be search engine friendly. Keyword research and content audits conducted by our SEO team then ensured the site was fully optimised and ready to go.

Following launch, we implemented social and PPC campaigns to drive traffic to the site and increase sales.

  • The flawless UI/UX design resulted in a 100/100 score for accessibility.
  • The comprehensive search optimisation work resulted in a 91/100 SEO score.
  • The site was delivered on time and on budget and what’s more, it looks great!
  • Since launch, our PPC campaigns and ongoing SEO support have had a significant impact on site traffic and sales.

We are now working with Pelsis to include more products and deliver the site to more countries globally.
