What is PitchPower?

PitchPower, developed in partnership with the Football Foundation, is a groundbreaking app designed to revolutionise grassroots sports pitch inspections. With more than 48,000 clubs registered, PitchPower empowers volunteers across football, rugby, and cricket to take control of their pitch inspections, providing them with expert feedback and tailored improvement plans. The app has significantly streamlined the grant application process, helping clubs across the country secure much-needed funding for pitch improvements.

One of the most exciting recent advancements in PitchPower has been the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). The introduction of an AI-powered grass and weed detection tool has significantly streamlined the pitch inspection process. Users can now upload a photo of their pitch, and the AI automatically analyses and calculates the percentage of grass, weeds, and bare earth with remarkable accuracy. Feedback from experts confirms that the AI delivers results with 99% accuracy, drastically reducing the need for manual input and improving overall efficiency.

This innovation is helping clubs receive faster and more precise assessments, ensuring quicker access to resources and support.
